You cannot Form a Utopia

The dictionary defines Utopia as “An ideally perfect place, especially in its social, political, and moral aspects.”  This is what the progressive left believes they can turn America into.  Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are two people that used to throw around that term in reference to President Obama’s immigration stance, his “dear colleague” letter regarding bathroom use and Obamacare.  The deep state which is responsible for the hundreds of thousands of regulations that choke the life out of America also seeks to form a utopia.  The hyper-litigated country is the cherry on top, suing everyone who does not comply with the utopia wishes.

There is a universal feeling, among the left, in Washington DC that if  certain people are forced to shut up and certain regulations are put in place then America will become a perfect place.  There will be no hate, no violence, no racism, no death, no pain, no poverty, no hunger and nothing bad will ever happen again.  This is a fantasy and anyone who believes it is truly high.

The reason a utopia cannot exist on earth is because people are totally depraved, evil people.  Nancy Pelosi has said many times that when people have to, people will always do the right thing?  Really, why does she think that.  The Progressive left believes that people are basically good.  All evil that is done is because of society or education or the economy or some external force that can be legislated against.  This is why we MUST find the motive for the Las Vegas shooter.  Once we find his motive, we can make regulations against it and prevent that from ever happening again.  It is unacceptable that the shooter just wanted to kill people, because good people don’t do that.  Well, there are no good people.

John Calvin took a bunch of Bible believing Christians to Geneva to form a utopia and it failed.  Pat Robertson tried to form a neighborhood of Christians who would buy into this utopia, somewhere in Virginia.  He did this in the 1980s, and of course it failed.  Even people who know what people have inside fail.  Even people who put God first, fail.  How can sinful, evil, selfish, godless politicians succeed in making a utopia?

There will be a time when a utopia exists.  That time will be at the end of time.  God will destroy the current heaven and earth and make a new one.  He will then put a huge Jerusalem city on the earth and Jesus will reign with godly people who followed him on earth.  There will be no Satan, no sin, nothing evil and a true utopia, ruled by Jesus Christ will remain forever.  Nancy Pelosi is not Jesus Christ and making rules against gun and rules about bathroom usage does nothing buy upset and annoy people.  That is what got Trump elected.  Putting people in a box of rules and regulations does nothing to create a utopia it just makes people angry.

Remembering the Franklin Day Planner

This week I have been rereading Hyrum Smith's book "The 10 Natural Laws of Productivity and Happiness." This book was written in the late 1980s and I remember reading it for the first time when I was working at Seagate Technologies, after my time in the Air Force. The core tool talked about in the book is the Franklin Day Planner . I remembering having one such planner, long before smart phones and Palm devices. Mine was a leather bound loose-leaf binder with calendar and note pages in it. I kept my daily tasks list and appointments in that binder, which became a record of my work history at Seagate and beyond. The Day Planner binders, pages and supplies were sold at a store called Franklin Quest , which was located at Valco Mall in Sunnyvale. At that time, I was a computer programmer. I was able to keep a record of all request for software, who made the request and when and what the requirements were. It seemed that I was the only one keeping a record of this b...

Thoughts on Assistance

Today I received a call from a person wanting rental assistance. Apparently they got kicked out of their place of residence and having found a room to rent, they just needed someone to pay for it. I am not sure how this person got our phone number. We are listed in the phone book and our phone number is on our marquee. However they found us they had the idea that a church, any church, our church should pay for their rent. This is a very strange notion. I come in contact with many people, many who call and some who come and knock on the door of the church. These people do not attend our church and they give no evidence that they even believe in the same things we do. There is no relationship between these beggars and our church, yet there is the assumption that our church, or any church is just handing out cash to anyone who asks. This is what is strange. Why would any organization spend all their money on people who do not participate, attend or believe like us. Some mig...
